It’s been over two years since the start of the pandemic. People throughout the globe have been struggling with the changes brought about by COVID. Teachers, first responders, students, and hospitality workers have gone through ups and downs since 2020. Different industries have different perspectives on what changes came about throughout the pandemic.

As society comes closer to what’s being described as ‘endemic’ , people are becoming more aware of dangerous microbes. The recent findings of avian flu on Long Island, which currently only affects birds, might have people concerned. 

Humans haven’t been to the moon since 1972. Since then, only 12 males have ever set foot on the moon. Jasmin Moghbeli, who is of Iranian descent and from Baldwin, New York, might become the first woman to set foot on the moon by 2024.

On Tuesday, Sept. 6, Nobel Prize winner in Physics Dr. Barry Barish spoke as the inaugural featured speaker of the newly established C.N. Yang Colloquium series in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
